Core Knowledge Home Page Lesson plans and information for E. D. Hirsch's books, "What Your Nth Grader Needs to Know." Hirsch has reformulated the scope and sequence that he feels traditional schools should use. Used by many homeschoolers as a guide.
World Book On-Line Educational Guide This site is similar to the Core Knowledge book series except it has been around a lot longer. They provide on-line lesson plans, activities, recommended reading, etc. for preschool through grade 12. Even though both Core Knowledge and World Book are not from a specifically Christian worldview, much information can be gathered and placed within a Christian worldview presuppositional context by the parent(s).
Classical Christian Homeschooling's Reading List of 1000 Good Books, divided by grade level. This is one of the best reading lists available, and also divides up the grade levels up by ability.
Morton Grove Public Library has some great booklists, including a "Talking Animal" list. Beware of non-Christian books.
Canton Public Library has a list of historical fiction by periods.
100 Best Books of the 20th Century by Cattermole is an excellent list, and it has both novels and picture books.
